Diane Powers has announced her lineup of fashionable, cultural, entertaining and always colorful events for 2018 at her Bazaar del Mundo Shops, at the corner of Juan and Taylor Streets in Old Town, and restaurants Casa Guadalajara (right next door),Casa de Pico in La Mesa’s Grossmont Center, Casa de Bandini at The Forum in Carlsbad and Casa Sol y Mar in Del Mar Highlands Town Center.
Whether you live here or are visiting for the first time, you’ll want to take advantage of the amazing festivals and events at the Bazaar del Mundo Shops. A favorite Old Town tourist destination, the Bazaar del Mundo Shops celebrate three years at its Taylor Street location next to Casa Guadalajara, and continue the popular shopping, dining and special event experiences that San Diegans have enjoyed for over 40 years.

Mercado del Sol
Shoppers are invited to explore vibrant collections of handcrafted jewelry, clothing, fashion accessories, home décor and gifts as the artists describe their inspiration and techniques for creating their colorful wares.
Visiting artists include:
•Kim Yubeta with the latest in her collection of “treasure” necklaces
•Dan Dee Silk, local silk artists creating scarves, ruanas and jackets
•Hang Accessories, local traveling bags and accessories company
•Ilanit Shalev, local artist combining glass and leather into one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces
•Cynthia Rodriguez with a collection of bright, trendy jewelry and other accessories
•Krista Lee, a popular collection of beautifully embroidered and embellished tunics
•Mad Art Studios, local glass artists Rina and Michael Maddy creating vibrant vases, paperweights, perfume bottles and more
Delicious summer treats, such as virgin margaritas and Mexican fruit cups, will also be for sale to help guests keep cool in the San Diego sun.
Latin American Festival and Marta Ortiz Pottery Market August 3-5 (Friday – Sunday )
Delighting travelers and San Diego locals for decades, Bazaar del Mundo’s annual Latin American Festival and Mata Ortiz Pottery Show. A weekend of folk art, food, entertainment and San Diego’s largest collection of authentic Mata Ortiz pottery, shoppers will also find a vast array of artisan jewelry, vibrant Mexican clothing and colorful collectibles.
Santa Fe Marketplace September 21-23 (Friday – Sunday)
The annual Santa Fe Market brings the best of the Southwest to San Diego! The festival is a colorful outdoor marketplace featuring Navajo, Cherokee, Hopi, Pima, Isleta Pueblo and Santo Domingo Pueblo tribe members, along with other noted Southwestern artists demonstrating and selling their wares. Collectors of fine Native American jewelry, art, hand woven rugs, Pendleton blankets and home décor will enjoy an unforgettable weekend. Collections include sterling silver and multi-stone inlaid jewelry of turquoise and coral, sculptures, Native American graphic art, paintings and more.
